The Wind Caves

On Monday we decided to venture out in the morning to enjoy our new found surroundings in Logan. We packed Ethan in his backpack and began a hike to the wind caves. We didn't realize until we reached the trailhead we would be ascending 900 feet in 1.3 miles (which may be fine for most of you but for us, especially with a baby...well...we had to take a few breaks). There was beautiful greenary, wild flowers and we even saw a snake. Ethan enjoyed himself, babbling most of the way and sleeping the rest.

The wind caves were awesome!! Although I'm unsure why they call them wind caves when the limestone was actually eroded by water- go figure. And they're really more like arches than caves. Anyhow, we were amazed at the natural beauty of Logan Canyon. We're looking forward to discovering more!!

This is on top of the caves before you drop in. If you look closely you can see a limestone wall across the canyon. The locals call that the China Wall.

This is a picture inside the caves: as you can see, they're really more like archways.

This is a view from inside the cave looking out. We thought it was pretty spectacular.
